Anyhow 03:48
Track Sabbath got nothin on me I’m a perpetual motion machine I called the band and they’re good to go They’re just dying to get on the scene All these things I tell myself Just to get me through the day Trying just to build me up When I know it doesn’t really matter Anyhow Neosporin and an IPA It’s just a scratch mama I’m alright Gimme a minute to collect myself And I’ll jump back into the fight All these things I tell myself Just to get me through the day Trying just to build me up When I know it doesn’t really matter Anyhow I’ll write a bridge any way I want I’ll take a break any time I need Here goes nothing baby hold on tight I’m gonna give it all away for free All these things I tell myself Just to get me through the day Trying just to build me up When I know it doesn’t really matter Anyhow

It never ends Hauling through this conveyor belt country And yet again Time bends to the wind It never felt so free It's a long long way to go When you're trying to swim through a tidal wave The motor turns Slowly, surely, to somewhere somehow Horizon calls Calmly I choose to put my foot down It's a long long way to go When you're trying to swim through a tidal wave
4.
Work Of Mind 02:46
Fault lines crack in the marble floor Columns can't hold anymore It's the ruins of the dreams of old And the stories that you were told Wait until you find it was all a work of mind Shaking at your desk while you watch the news Telling yourself you'd know just what to do But you won't be ready for that call You wouldn't know what to do at all And that's when you find it's all a work of mind
5.
It's Meta! 03:26
Cassette case on your smartphone Your in the box guitar tones The way you click and drag on a knob and you say I think it’s sounding warmer When you work at a click farm, it’s meta! To buy your plays from a click farm, it’s meta! The band you’re ripping off ripping off all the bands you wish you ripped off first, it’s meta! Drip drip drip Speculative investments In two dimensional breasteses The ad for fresh queezed orange juice when you were thinking bout tomorrow’s breakfast Andy Kaufman’s career, it’s meta! The one and only Billy shears, it’s meta! The remixed compressed approximation of all your favorite records from the golden years, meta! Drip drip drip The filter fixing your face The new improved human race The culturally vague ethnically vague answer to all of life’s problems You own a football team but it’s meta! You’re into threesome scenes but it’s meta! The background of your conference call is the Bahamas but your supervisor knows where you are, meta! Drip drip drip!

Find me at the Rio Got my Zeppelin shirt on The boys are on the rooftop Gonna get it all night long But one lucky motherfucker met his wife tonight This motherfucker gonna change his life tonight It's getting kinda real Sun is on its way Now that I have found you I think I'm gonna stay One lucky motherfucker met his wife tonight This motherfucker gonna change his life tonight
7.
You sure do love your child celebrity soldier He’s a big man in your eyes Only barely grown, not workin on his own And fighting for the way of life you’ve known You say it’s self defense when your little soldier Came armed from out of state Flashing little fingers curled up in hate And you act like it’s just “OK” You might not say it out loud But I hear it clear as the crystal blue sky It’s a wink and a smile It’s all between the lines And a paper trail of likes Now I know You sure do love your stupid supplement spokesman The host who’s paid the most Handing the soapbox over to hustlers Disbarred doctors and reality destructors And now you march behind celebrity soldiers Your heroes all gone dark Following fearful masculine orders With artillery at your borders How did they get through to you I know your heart, it is so much better Than to fall for the poison flooding the feed I hope you’re still out there listening
8.
Sometimes came rarely But often enough to make me never try To say goodbye to my old ways Before I know it it's Wednesday Other times you can find me Walking the hallways of my dreams It never seems to make more sense Than it ever did But I just need a couple chords 1, 5, 4 To get me through Don't overthink it, man My life is a series Of parallel wins I feel I didn't earn Even though I burn it at both ends And give them every Saturday It's an honor, it's an outrage To be working all the time But I know I'm doing it all to myself But I just need a couple chords 1, 5, 4 To get me through Don't overthink it, man Don't overthink it, man!
9.
A boy of his time I was happening I was the future of the future of now The demographicists had their golden eye on me Everywhere I went they ran to take a bow But then the Radio Shack became a Halloween store The guitar magazines ain’t really selling anymore And a bank I never heard of stole the baseball park The channels I loved all went dark When I wasn’t looking With pegs on the axles and grease on the chain I could get across the tracks in no time at all With the right mix in the walkman I could roll all day I would jump back up from the bloodiest fall But then the Radio Shack became a Halloween store The guitar magazines ain’t really selling anymore The joints I never noticed start to stiffen and fade I grew a little extra at the core When I wasn’t looking

Every morning I wake up thinking What do I get to make today Every night I lay down buzzing With the songs from the day And it's all thanks to you, I can be true Go where inspiration flows But if I could be so bold to ask one more Favor before I go With all of the love in the world...

about

TRACK SABBATH was born out of my need to dedicate specific spans of time to my own creative pursuits. It is a time to put my professional production projects on hold and get into my own head space for an extended enough period to allow inspiration to strike and ideas to marinate. The first two Sabbaths produced an EP (recorded over February 2019 and released in March 2020) and a full-length collection of songs recorded at various times over 2020 and early 2021.

For the third installment of this series, I opted to set aside the first two weeks of January 2022 with a specific goal: to write, record, and release a full song every Monday-Friday for 10 days (I had an out-of-town gig the weekend between, hence the weekday schedule). While I allowed myself access to my backlog of voice memo riff ideas and randomly typed-in phrases and lyric ideas over the years, every song was crafted from scratch* and released to YouTube and social media the morning after its creation.

The resulting album is, as usual for the TRACK SABBATH method, stylistically scatterbrained. It really might not make a lot of sense as a unit. So, please feel free to interpret it as a collection of singles, or accept the whole record as the real-time shotgun stream of creative consciousness it had to be.

Each song went through a slight mix clean-up and mastering process over Feb 1-3, 2022.

*Full disclosure: It's Meta! was demoed a month prior, however incompletely. And I wasn't about to let that jam just wait in the wings, so I allowed myself that one cheat.
